Group Therapy

Group therapy is a place where people come together to share problems and concerns, helping you to better understand their own situation and to learn from and with each other. At Connectional Health we focus on improving social skills and relationships. We use a small group format guided by a therapist who specializes in the theme being presented. The therapist acts as a monitor to keep discussions on track and productive. Often groups will select their own topics for discussion on arrival. Some examples of group therapy topics include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Groups, which center on identifying and changing inaccurate or distorted thinking, patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors

  • Interpersonal Groups, which focus on interpersonal relationships and social interaction, including how much support you have from others and the impact these relationships have on mental health.

  • Psychoeducational Groups, which focus on educating clients about their disorders and ways of coping.

  • Support Groups, which provide a wide range of benefits for people with a variety of mental health conditions as well as their loved ones.

  • Special Groups, which provide an open forum and a learning environment for special topics selected by the therapist in advance.
